WinRAR is a trialware file archiver utility for Windows. It can create and view archives in RAR or ZIP file formats, and unpack numerous archive file formats. If Windows Explorer is not working, WinRAR is a suitable replacement for extracting zip files.

Extracting Zip files using WinRAR

First, download the zip file. If you are receiving this zip file from Outlook, you can do this by clicking on the  icon to the right of the folder and pressing either Save As or Download. Once you download the zip file, open your downloads by navigating to your  File Explorer and clicking . You should see this zip file as your most recent download.

Now, left-click on the zip file to select it. Then, right-click the zip-file and click the Open with WinRAR option

This will open WinRAR. Click the  Extract To option

Now, specify where you would like the contents of this zip file will be placed.

The easiest way to do this is to just click the OK option on the bottom right. This will save the extracted zip file to your downloads.

If you'd like to pick a specific location to save the zip file, left-click on the destinations on the right pane to select where you'd like to save your extracted zip file.

If you do not specify where you'd like to extract the zip file, it will go to your downloads. An example of the unzipped contents of the zip file is displayed below:
