This article will guide you through the troubleshooting process of rebooting the internet in your retail location. This guide will be useful if your registers are not online and you do not have internet.

This guide only applies to the following locations:

  • Bridgeville
  • Claymont
  • Concord
  • Fox Run
  • Gateway
  • Kirkwood
  • MacDade
  • Newark
  • Smyrna
  • Swarthmore

If your location is not on this list, please click here to access the correct troubleshooting guide.

The troubleshooting steps require you to check on the following equipment in the order stated below:

  1. Cisco Router
    • Routes internet connectivity to switch
  2. Cisco ENS Modem
    • Modem for the Comcast network circuit
  3. Cisco EDI Modem
    • Modem for the phones
  4. Accedian antModules
    • Modules that are connected to the ENS and EDI modems. There should be one antModule connected to each modem.

1. Cisco Router

The Cisco Router should be a silver box that looks like this:

Make sure the following connections have power. You'll know they have power if the lights are lit or blinking. An example of this is below:

If you do not see power, reboot the machine by unplugging the power cable, waiting 15 seconds, and plug back in.

2. Cisco ENS Modem

This modem is responsible for connecting the registers and computers to Comcast's network circuit. It should be a black box that looks something like this:

It should also have a label on it that reads "Comcast ENS". When it's working correctly, the Link light should be green. if it's amber, that is usually an indication of a problem with the circuit:

3. Cisco EDI Modem

This modem is responsible for your phone connection. It looks exactly like the ENS box, except we have it labeled "EDI" instead of "ENS":

Check the lights on the edge of the EDI. If the modem is working correctly, the link light should be steadily lit. A blinking light indicates traffic is being transferred over the connection.

4. Accedian antModules

One Accedian antmodule will be connected to the ENS modem, and one will be connected to the EDI modem. These are used for Comcast purposes:

Make sure that each of these antModules are connected to their ENS or EDI modem. Also, make sure that the power cable is plugged into the antModule.
